Chief Executive Officer, Manager
Mark Merritt is the Company’s Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Mr. Merritt brings extensive industry experience to the Company as the former founder and CEO of VanField Industries. VanField Plastic was responsible for sourcing raw materials from Latin America and selling that material to recyclers within the plastics industry throughout North America. VanField Metal, a separate division of VanField Industries, is a processor of insulated copper wire from scrap metal companies across the Midwest.
Prior to founding VanField Industries, Mr. Merritt was the founder & CEO of KemX Global. KemX was the second-largest glycerin refiner in North America.
Cornelius “Conn” Ryan is a native of Denver, Colorado, and still resides in the Denver suburb of Lakewood. He has worked in the corporate/commercial finance space for 35 years. Mr. Ryan is a 1983 BSBA graduate of Colorado State University. Following graduation, Conn pursued a career at Dean Witter Reynolds and then moved to Paine Webber in 1989. In 1992, Conn broke away from corporate finance and began investing on his own, operating ventures ranging from commercial construction to manufacturing. In 2001 Conn took a position with Sevo Miller/Rapid Funding, a large multifamily operator and a boutique source of financing, as an underwriter and advisor. At Sevo Miller/Rapid Funding, Conn participated in financings ranging from $2,000,000 to $22,000,000, including factoring, commercial real estate and non-traditional assets.
In 2018, Conn accepted a position as a Partner and Managing Director at Shift Capital Partners, where he remains to this day. Conn works closely in all projects at every front. Conn has cultivated a vast background in corporate finance and also amassed a meaningful number of contacts throughout the finance industry.
Niki Haarman is a founder and the sole Manager and owner of Shift Capital Partners, LLC, an Austin-based private equity group. Ms. Haarman comes from the world of corporate banking where she served for over 20 years with Citi Group and Bank United as Director and VP of Corporate Treasury Management. She also brings with her decades of hands-on experience managing sizable real estate portfolios that include both multi-family and commercial properties. Niki also managed and oversaw the construction of various spec homes within her own personal portfolio.
Ms. Haarman has served as Director of Marketing for an Austin-based Senior Care and Living community and was a member of the board of directors for DIFFA Houston, a non-profit group. Niki is a licensed Insurance professional and has also held her Securities Series Six and Blue-sky license. She is currently Managing Director of several Texas limited liability companies, many of which are affiliated companies of Shift Capital Partners.
